Audio Life Portraits

THE PROCESS

Decide that you want an “audio life portrait” of your life or of someone special. Maybe you would like to suggest an “audio life portrait” for that a special friend or relative such as a parent, uncle, grandparent, or maybe just someone whom you respect.
Preliminary discussion. This can be done by phone and is helpful in order to “frame” the interview, in a similar way to which a photographer prepares for a photo shoot. A brief pre-interview questionnaire will assist the process and ensure that key areas are covered.
Meeting and Interview. Usually in the subject’s house, although this is not essential. The interview may take from two to three hours, depending on the depth of the interview.
Post-Interview Discussion. A short discussion to decide what should be left out, or if any topic should be covered again in greater detail.
Editing and “audio life portrait”production. This is a critical stage of the process. We have a strong philosophy when it comes to editing to ensure that our clients' life stories are captured faithfully, and in a way which will likely to be a positive experience for all concerned.
Delivery of the “audio life portrait”. The standard package includes 2 copies of the “audio life portrait”. Extra copies can be ordered at $40 per double CD set. Upon completion, we will usually ask you if you know of anyone else who you think may like their “audio life portrait”. Please remind us if we forget to ask!
Storage and confidentiality. We will hold the information in confidence and not pass on the interview, or any part thereof, to any third party unless you sign a release. By its nature, your “audio life portrait” will contain personal information. Any information divulged during the interview process will be held in confidence.
