"Calboonya" is a 40 hectare property on the NSW South Coast located between the historic village of Cobargo and the coastal town of Bermagui. "Calboonya" is the Yuin word for "superb lyrebird". Lyrebirds are often spotted around Calboonya. There is also plenty of other native wildlife. The unspoilt coastal town of Bermagui is only 15 kilometres away.
Tony would like to offer people the opportunity for people to stay at Calboonya - for free! The offer is this: stay at Calboonya (minimum 2 nights), be provided with food and lodgings. Be willing to provide a few hours per day contributing to the work reqquired at Calboonya. No "clock-watching" just a simple request to be mindful of the principle of a fair exchange. Money is not to change hands.
There are many jobs to get involved in. Here are just a few:
- Building projects using materials sourced from the property
- Maintenance of the tracks or other infrastructure
- Cultivating and harvesting organic produce
- Artistic input
- Animal care
- Other creative ideas welcome
